High quality film-related activities benefitting students & the wider community.

From drive-in movies to national tours of cult classics and major outdoor events, Cambridge Film Projects’ giant inflatable Airscreen has been seen across the country.

Silent classic A Throw of Dice in Trafalgar Square as part of the London Film Festival

Cambridge Film Projects offer a winning combination of expertise and careful planning, so that even the most techically challenging projects and venues can deliver a seamless audience experience.

For example, when working with BAFTA, QED Productions, and the Cambridge Film Trust on an event featuring Michael Palin being interviewed by Mark Kermode, 3 screens were set up in Ely Cathedral.  The screen and projection set up needed to respect the surroundings, avoid obstructing the audience's view, and be in-sync as each screen played the same reel of clips to supplement the interview.  If you have a project idea or plan that may seem difficult or daunting, ring us on 01223 328383 and we will discuss possibilities and consider how to make it feasible.

Silent films showed with a live music accompaniement have proved particularly popular with audiences and clients - from solo performers such as the world-renowned pianist Neil Brand, to London Philharmonia’s 50 piece orchestra which entertained over 8,000 people.  Our large Airscreen, superior projection and experience enable us to entertain large audiences of up to 10,000.  Audiences of 3,000 enjoyed screenings with live music in Trafalgar Square; a similarly sized event to our outdoor screening of 'Dirty Dancing' in the heart of Newcastle, where we helped Tyneside Cinema relaunch in style.

We also organised the UK’s first twin Airscreen show to celebrate the opening of Eurostar’s latest terminal in Ebbsfleet where over 500 cars were parked to enjoy.  And for our own Cambridge Film Festival which takes place every September, we have held spectacular screenings across Cambridge including ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ at the Institute of Astronomy and a silent disco screening of ‘Mamma Mia!’ on Grantchester Meadows.
